Oh what a year it has been! A Pandemic, an Earthquake, Crazy winds, School shut downs, and masks oh my!
We were lucky enough to sneak in a vacation to Disneyland exactly one week before they shut down. I'm so grateful we got in. We went with some of our best friends Eryn and Trent, and it was so much fun!
Seth and I Celebrated our 10 year anniversary on the exact Day the US started shutting down for the pandemic. We were at home watching the 311 Day concerts on tv. We were grateful we didn't actually go because I would have been a hot mess with the kids at home and us in Vegas as everything went down. But it was also sad to not get to make one last concert since all of our concert tickets would get cancelled for the year. Its been a very long year with no concerts you have no idea!
AMBERLYN: Amberlyn sort of finished preschool this year. We ended up dropping out because it was hard to pay for zoom meetings that she had zero interest in. Home schooling was super hard. She started Kindergarten this fall at our new charter school and for the most part has been doing really well! There have been some separation anxiety issues since she had been out of school for so long. But she's been learning so much this year and having so much fun! She turned 6 in October and we did our best to make it as special as possible, since she didn't get to have any friends over.
TAIYDEN: Taiyden finished 2nd grade... online. His last in school day was a disaster he got sent home for uniform violation so he didn't even get to go to his last day at that school. He did pretty well with online school but it was exhausting and stressful. He turned 8 in June and was Baptized a member of the LDS church, and hasn't even been able to go to primary since February. He started 3rd grade at the new school this fall and has been loving it. its a little hard to make friends with everything going on but he's been finding ways to talk with friends. These kids are amazing. He's been so strong and resilient there's been a few bumps but Im super proud of him. He's such a great big brother and kind son, always wanting to give hugs and make sure everyone is okay.
SETH: Seth had his hours cut for a while at work during the shut downs, but we made it work and Im so grateful that he's such a hard worker and does so much for our family even when times are tough. He's the best Dad and husband! We're so happy to have him we couldn't do any of this with out him.
ANDREA: This year I was mom, teacher, zoom master, crazy stuck at home lady, and at times warden. There was a learning curve for all of us. The kids were grounded more this year than previous years, probably because we were all home more and the world is stressful even for little kids. But we're in a good place now we learned a lot about each other. I love my family and I wouldn't want to be quarantined with anyone else, good or bad days. I'm grateful for my friends who let me text them all the crazy (Stacy, Eryn, Jenn, and Aubrey Im looking at you!)
THE EXTENDED FAMILY: Deb is doing pretty well all things considered. She's a rockstar Grandma who always has the best ideas for crafts, which is Amberlyns most favorite thing ever. We're so glad to have her close to spend time with! Don and Yalanda are doing well, we haven't seen them much this year because of everything, and Dads church position keeps him home and busy more. We miss them but are glad they're staying safe and healthy. They were able to come for Taiydens baptism in June that was nice! Jerrilyn and John are still in St George, We were able to go visit them three times this year, on our way to Disneyland, a weekend in July and over Fall break. Seths Grandpa recently had a 2nd stroke and is a care facility that doesn't allow visitors so that's hard, he's doing well mentally but has lost some motor function. We send so many hugs and prayers to him and Grandma. we love them both tons!!!
